Get an insight into the police

Budding crime fighters have the chance to learn more about the police as part of a new scheme.

West Yorkshire Police is inviting applications for its Explorer Programme which gives youngsters the chance to experience different aspects of the police.

The 25-week programme, starting in January, will give successful candidates the chance to spend two hours a week at their local police station.

Simon Phillips, community engagement officer, said: “The Explorer Programme offers a unique behind-the-scenes look into policing which is ideal for anyone considering the police as a future career.”

Applications are available to download from www.westyorkshire.police.uk/explorers

The deadline for applications is Thursday, October 31.
