After seeing their five-match unbeaten run ended last weekend Frickley Athletic will be keen to bounce straight back when they are back at home to a Skelmersdale United side below them in the Evo-Stik Premier League this Saturday.

The Blues go into the game in 11th place – 11 points behind a play-off place and 17 ahead of the relegation spots – and while they appear to have little to play for this season they are determined to make sure the improved campaign is rounded off in good style with manager Karl Rose aiming for the team to finish as high as possible.

Skelmersdale are currently 11 points and five places below Frickley and have only won twice on their travels in the league.

Frickley are also in action next Tuesday night when they travel to take on leaders Blyth Spartans (kick-off 7.45pm), who held an eight-point advantage at the top following last weekend’s matches.

Blues striker Grant Ryan, meanwhile, has left the club to join Evo-Stik Premier Division rivals Grantham Town. He joined from AFC Mansfield in mid-December, but has found his chances limited in recent weeks.
