A productive festive period that brought four points in two games has lifted Frickley Athletic back up into the top half of the Evo-Stik Premier League table.
Karl Rose’s men were impressive 3-1 winners at home to Grantham Town on Boxing Day as they ended a five-match sequence without a victory and were a little unlucky only to bring back a point from their trip to the coast to play Whitby Town on Monday when they drew 1-1.
The result took the Blues up to 12th in the table and they can climb into the top 10 if they can win this Saturday when at home to Rushall Olympic (kick-off 3pm).
Frickley will be looking to do the double over their opponents after beating them 1-0 away in September when Jacob Hazel scored the winner.
Hazel has found his scoring boots again after a little spell out of the starting line-up, netting all four of the Blues’ goals over Christmas.
Frickley’s league game at home against Darlington 1883 has now been arranged for Saturday, January 16, with a 3pm kick-off.
This is in place of the previously planned away game at Stourbridge, which will now be rearranged for a later date in the season.
