Can you topple the greatest darts player on the planet in a charity challenge?
A businessman has devised a tungsten-plated moneyspinner for the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract with the lure of playing against 2014 PDC World Darts champion Michael van Gerwen.
Ian Wood, managing director of FSH Maintenance, wants 20 teams to play preliminary competitions and for the winners to play Mighty Mike in a special event in December.
He said: ”We are looking for any company, organisation or club with a darts league to set up their own competitions and raise a minimum of £250 as their entry fee.
“All this will go to the hospice so if teams want to make a bit more of their individual events and raise more, that’s even better!
“Because of the limits we had around how many players Michael could take on, we decided that 20 teams would be an ideal target. That means they can bring along the runner up of their individual matches to support them.”
