Featherstone Rovers have not disclosed any new signings, but head coach Jon Sharp has revealed the type of player that he has been looking at to improve his team for next year.

Sharp acknowledged that fans were eager to know which of the players the club have been linked with are on the way and told the Express that announcements on new editions would be forthcoming soon.

He said: “All the fans are really keen on getting confirmation on some of the speculation so it shouldn’t be too long. It’s the same thing with departures and who we’re going to retain and who we’re going to release are key to our announcement.

“But we’re looking to bring some more punch into the team, a bit more strike.

“We want to bring players in who can offer a lot with the ball, break tackles and offload and who are an attacking threat. I think that’s the key for us.

“Defensively I think we’re already a good match for anyone as we’ve proven in the league. But I just think we need a bit more firepower to give our half-backs good targets to hit and opportunities to create off the back of those carries.”
