Final preparations are being made for the second fashion show of the year to raise cash for Pontefract’s Prince of Wales Hospice.

A fashion show in April raised £879 for the hospice and organisers hope to raise a similar amount from the second event which takes place at St Giles’ Church in Pontefract on Tuesday October 7.

Organiser Soo Beddow said: “The hospice is so important to our area. People don’t realise it is for anyone aged 18 or above.

“It’s not just the elderly who are cared for there and the job they do is amazing.

“It costs £250 an hour to run the hospice, so that’s why I organise these events to help.

“It’s so important to help the hospice to have the funds to provide much-needed care and support to those with life-limiting illness.”

Fashion from the Complete Clothing Company, as well as jewellery and accessories, will be on show at the event.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7pm, cost £5 including refreshments and are available from the Halfpenny Lane hospice, St Giles’ Church, or by calling Mrs Beddow on 01977 674459.
