WHEN six-year-old Todd Andrew Currie smiled for the camera to take photographs for family Christmas presents he never imagined he could be crowned winner of a children’s modelling competition.
His mum, Estelle Currie, of Victor Road, South Kirkby, took the youngster to get some snap shots to be sent to relatives over the festive period.
But the photographer in the Max Spielmann section of the Asda store in Carr Croft, Doncaster, was so impressed with his good looks they encouraged him to enter their Cutest Kid competition.
And to their surprise – he won.
Mrs Currie said: “I just couldn’t believe it when they rang and told me he had won. It was so out of the blue as we had only gone in to take pictures for our own enjoyment. I am so proud of him.”
The St Jospeh’s Catholic School pupil said he was really pleased to win. He said: “I wasn’t nervous when they were taking my picture. I just think it is really good.”
For winning the competition, they received a large framed picture.
