Detectives are hunting a sex attacker after a woman was assaulted after a night out in the city centre.

A 23-year-old woman was attacked by a man she had met in Odyssey bar on Kirkgate.

She left the bar with the man after 10pm but told police the next day she had been sexually assaulted.

The attack took place overnight between Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5.

And police have now released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Det Insp Andy Welbourne, of Wakefield CID, said: “A number of enquiries have been ongoing and the victim continues to be supported by specially trained officers.

“We know the victim met the suspect during the evening at the Odyssey bar on Kirkgate after 10pm on the Saturday and left with him.

“She contacted police the next day to report being seriously sexually assaulted.”
