Man injured in gang attack in Wakefield

A man suffered facial injuries in a gang attack in Wrenthorpe.

The 20-year-old victim was approached from behind by three men who pulled his jacket up over his head.

They forced him to the floor and assaulted him.

The men took the victim’s wallet which had fallen on the floor.

It happened between 12.30am and 1.30am on Coronation Street on Tuesday.

The suspects were described as Asian and were dressed in dark clothing.

PC Martyn Walker, of Wakefield District Police, said: “We are investigating this assault and would like to speak to anyone who may have information or may have seen what happened.”
