New investigations have been launched into abuse at NHS organisations by the disgraced presenter Jimmy Savile.
The West Yorkshire Service, which was merged into the current Yorkshire Ambulance Service in 2006, confirmed it was cooperating with an investigation by the NHS Savile Legacy Unit.
Meanwood Park Hospital in Leeds and Calderdale Royal Hospital are also on the list of new investigations.
Savile, a Radio 1 DJ who also presented the BBC’s Top Of The Pops and Jim’ll Fix It, died aged 84 in October 2011, a year before allegations that he had sexually abused children were broadcast in an ITV documentary .
The ambulance service said in a statement: “Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust can confirm that it is cooperating fully with the NHS Savile Legacy Unit regarding Jimmy Savile’s association with the former West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance Service.”
