PUPILS got the chance to see their creative artwork on display last week as they celebrated the end of a three-month project.
The youngsters from South Kirkby Common Road Infant and Nursery School took inspiration from visits to the Hepworth Wakefield, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Brimham Rocks to create their very own pieces of art.
Rock sculptures, sketches, and paintings were all put on the walls around the school, on Common Road.
They worked together with their parents on the projects.
Class teacher, Karen Atkinson, said she was very impressed with the children’s work.
She said: “It has really given the children chance to look at other artwork and be inspired by it.”
The work will soon be put on display at the Hepworth Wakefield.
Miss Atkinson said: “They have thoroughly enjoyed the project and are so excited their work will be on display in a gallery, especially as they are only four and five years old.
“It has been a really great experience.”
