Four people appeared in court and fined over £800 for riding motorbikes without insurance.

Wakefield Police say they took court action against four people in June for riding nuisance motorbikes, resulting in seven being seized, 19 Section 59 orders issued and one person reported for summons.

In Wakefield, two people were handed a £811 fine and issued with eight penalty points for riding an off-road bike on a road without insurance. Another received a £121 fine and eight penalty points for riding a moped with no insurance and in Normanton, a £811 fine was given along with eight penalty points for riding an off-road bike without insurance or licence.

Anyone who witnesses any nuisance off-road motorbikes in the community are asked to report them to the police by calling 101.
