CREATIVE youngsters in South Elmsall were able to see their colourful designs in Frickley Country Park this week as their designs were unveiled.

Three pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic School, Moorthorpe, were chosen as the winners of a competition to create plates that would be placed around the park.

Emily Whitehouse, 11, and Marshall Stringer, eight, both from South Elmsall and Toby Sykes, nine, from South Kirkby were excited to be chosen as the winners on Monday.

They all attend St Joseph’s School in Moorthorpe.

Coun Maureen Cummings, cabinet member for environment and communities, said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in the competition, there were so many deserving entries.

“Congratulations to the winners, their designs will be a great addition to the park. I encourage everyone to look out for the fantastic designs next time you visit.”
