A LITTLE girl has raised more than £300 in a sponsored walk she did with her brand new puppy.
Amy Musson, eight, of Southmoor Road, Hemsworth, pictured left, took part in a sponsored walk around the track at Pontefract Racecourse on Sunday, August 5.
She was joined in the walk, which took her just under an hour, by the Jack Russell puppy Patches, who she got for her birthday last month.
Amy carried the eight-week-old pup around the track in her arms as she was too young to walk by herself.
And by collecting sponsors from friends, family, and the South Kirkby British Legion she raised £381.50 for the Prince of Wales Hospice, in Pontefract
Her mum Anna Musson, 33, who works at the Hemsworth Prince of Wales Hospice shop, said: “She was really excited to do it and to raise some extra funds for the hospice. We’re really thankful to everybody that sponsored her - it’s absolutely brilliant I’m so proud of her.”
All the money raised by Amy will go towards the hospice, which helps to care people with life-threatening illnesses, and supports their families.
