Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell has named his 19-man squad to take on Leeds Rhinos on Thursday night at Headingley Carnegie Stadium (kick-off 8pm).
Nathan Massey suffered a dislocated knee during Sunday’s game but keeps his place in the squad. Also retaining his place in the squad is Danny Tickle, who came into the match day squad as a last minute replacement for Luke Dorn, who also stays in the 19-man squad and could make his return after recovering from a hamstring tear.
To make way for Tickle, Ryan Boyle drops out of the 19-man squad along with Ryan Hampshire and Jy Hitchcox.
Replacing those two are Will Maher and new loan signing, Paddy Flynn who could make his first Super League start of 2016.
Powell said: “We could have copped a fair bit of criticism for some of the selections on Sunday but Paul McShane fully justified what we had done.
“We’ve had to change a couple of things in the way we play. Full credit goes to the guys for the way they went about their work.
“We’ve copped a fair bit of unfair stick recently and it’s unwarranted. We’ve had 11-12 players on the sidelines and we’ve got players who are coming in and finding their feet, for me the guys don’t deserve some of the things that have been thrown at them and they’ve shown that there is a fair bit of spirit about the club.”
Free coach travel to Headingley is available to book until 5pm today (Tuesday). One free coach seat can be booked per ticket purchased at the Tigers Den club shop (not available via online orders). Coach seats must be booked at the same time the match tickets are purchased.
