RESIDENTS are being asked to keep reporting drug crime after police seized cannabis and thousands of pounds in cash in South Elmsall.
Officers from the South East neighbourhood policing team raided a house on Sunny Avenue last Wednesday morning and uncovered a cannabis farm in an outbuilding at the back of the property.
A substantial quantity of cash and nine suspected cannabis plants were recovered by officers. The plants will now be examined for their potential value on the open market.
Police arrested a 32-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman from South Elmsall in connection with the raid, and they have now been bailed.
Insp Geoff Carter of the South East NPT, thanked residents for their support in regularly reporting crime, particularly drugs offences.
