STUDENTS at Hemsworth Arts and Community College (HACC) have maintained an impressive 100 per cent pass rate in their A-level exams for the third year running.
Hopeful youngsters at HACC collected shining results last week that beat the national pass rate of 98 per cent.
Celebrations were wide-spread with 42 per cent having achieved an A*, A or B, and 77 per cent with grade C or higher.
And 68 per cent of students achieved three or more A-levels with grades A* to E.
This year there was a slight drop with 40 per cent of students achieving three or more A* to C grades, down from 65 per cent last year.
One of the college’s high achievers was Jake Hammond, 19, who gained a double award in Sport with distinction star and distinction.
He is now preparing to study at Liverpool University to become a primary school teacher.
He said: “I was really nervous this morning but I’m over the moon now I’ve got what I need.”
Principal Pamela Massett congratulated all staff and students.
She said: “The college is delighted with the 100% pass rate and congratulates all students and staff on their success.
“We have now maintained this impressive pass rate for the third year.
“This outstanding result exemplifies the high achievement and dedication of Hemsworth Post 16 students.”
