I would like to say a big thank you to all who voted on May 1 and I mean everyone, whether they voted for me or the other two candidates.
It was a very exciting contest and, as you can imagine, I was overwhelmed with the result.
I would also like to thank my team of helpers: Harold, Fred, Carol, John, Brenda, Doreen and all my family and friends who turned into postmen and women for a few days. My wife Dot was always by my side.
This was one of the nicest days of my life and I'm very proud that you selected me to serve the community. Thank you again.
Coun Wilf Benson,
Grange Avenue,
South Elmsall
