Twenty years in folk

YORKSHIRE folk star Kate Rusby is touring to celebrate her 20 years in showbusiness.

It may only be May, but tickets are now on sale for the folk singer’s festive concert at Huddersfield town hall, following the sell-out success of last year’s Christmas show there.

The gig on December 1 will feature songs from Kate’s two albums of Yorkshire-inspired songs and carols.

One of the stars of contemporary English folk music, Kate’s interpretations of traditional songs and self-penned tunes have won her a wide audience.

The festive tour will see the singer perform with a full band, complete with brass quintet – a rousing Christmas celebration!
