Man dies in restaurant disturbance

A MAN has died after a late night incident at a city-centre restaurant.

Emergency services were called to reports of a disturbance at the Indian Palace restaurant on Smyth Street at around 1.15am on Sunday.

The man was rushed to Pinderfields Hospital with stomach injuries but died later, West Yorkshire Police said.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.

Police are appealing for anyone who was around the area of the restaurant at the time of the incident or shortly before to contact Wood Street Police Station on 0845 6060606
