BOXING CLASSES: The Frickley Boxing Academy is offering free training at the Hemsworth Fitness Centre, based at Hemsworth High School on Sunday from 11am. Classes are open to anyone aged 13 and over. HAMPER DONATION: Frickley Boxing Academy has kindly arranged to donate ten food hampers to the Salvation Army in Hemsworth. The hampers have been put together by the lads with the aim of trying to show the local community that not all Hemsworth youths are bad lads.
WALKIE TALKIES: Now that spring has finally sprung, why not join the friendly group of "Walkie talkies" on organised circular green walks around the district. It's fun, free and gets you out and about while keeping you fit. The walks take place on Mondays at 10am from Hemsworth & District Community Initiatives. COFFEE MORNING: Hemsworth Methodist Church on Barnsley Road will be holding a coffee morning this Saturday at 10am.
COMPUTER AND INTERNET ACCESS: Hemsworth and District Community Initiatives at the Highfield Centre is offering access to its computer suite with Internet access for £3 per session. The open access sessions will take place between 10am–11.30am every Monday.
SALVATION ARMY EVENTS: Line dancing lessons are held every Monday at 1.30pm. Classes cost £1. If that's a bit too energetic, there's a coffee morning and table top sale every Tuesday between 9am–11am. On Thursday the Home League ladies meeting is at 2pm. Ladies and gents are welcome to join the quizzes and various talks. This is followed by tea and biscuits. All events are at Bush Street Hall in Hemsworth.
