This used to be a really good meal out with a varied and contemporary menu and well kept ales. Sadly in the last couple of years it has changed hands, the menu has changed several times and is now just basic pub grub. On one occasion we were served a meal which was inedible and with music so loud from the kitchen we had to ask 3 times for it turned down. We did get a refund so we thought it might have been an off day. A friend and I ate there recently and were both violently ill that night and the following day, had not seen each other for a few weeks so the only link was the food. We rang the next day as we were concerned others may be unwell or something was off, only to be told "ok thanks, no-one else has complained so we won't be doing anything". They didn't ask what we had eaten, (we both had the steak, although the orders were wrong with the side dishes and had to wait on the table whilst some things were replaced). The older people on the next table were complaining loudly that the cask ale (John Smiths I think) had been off for over two weeks as the pump was broken, bar staff showed no interest in their concerns. We won't return again.

I ordered a meal and realised after eating part of it that there was a part of the main meal missing. When I asked about it, I got a look like "Too late, the computer says no." Even if it was difficult to cook the rest, a free half pint would have kept me happy. Not been since.

me and my wife called thinking the 2 for one deal was on but it was after 5pm, so we were informed it was only till 5 pm,i had fish and chips the fis was delivered with the chips and mushy peas £6.50 pence, the fish was in batter and it was burnt realy dark brown and not at all apetising the mushy peas were cold and the chips where cold having paid full price you would expect hot food,to be honest star rating was minus 3, my wife had the chicken and new patato's and they were hard and cold, and not very good at all .ther also were 2 children alowed in and the were not 14 but 11 or 12 years old, dont think we will go back to the old half way house at Horbury it was not a nice atmosphere at all, will be taking custom else where in future ,needs to improve it attitude, and food quality
