Disgraceful road surface

HOW long do the residents of Minsthorpe Lane, Charleville and Diamond Avenue have to suffer the current road surface?

It's in a deplorable state of neglect.

I have witnessed councillors and highway representatives, on various occasions, assessing the road surface at the end of Diamond Avenue.

But apart from a feeble effort, consisting off a strip of Tarmac placed in the dip/pothole one Sunday morning, we are still awaiting the level of service we pay for with overexuberent poll tax contributions, that are above the national average.

I shudder to think what damage this road is inflicting on the vehicles that regularly use the junction of Diamond Avenue and Minsthorpe Lane.

But this pales into insignificance when you look at what is going to happen shortly, as I am convinced that there is an accident waiting to happen on this junction.

As I walked back from Moorthorpe Railway Station last night, I observed that nearly all vehicles travelling towards South Kirkby from the Minsthorpe High School direction were all swerving towards the centre of the road to avoid the strip of damaged and pothole-laden road.

Can anybody within the local council advise as to when we will ever have this disgrace of a road repaired, or do we all have to purchase 4x4 vehicles for travel around the South Elmsall area?
