Councillor, shut your box

I HAVE taken delivery of the March issue of The Citizen paper entitled 'Working for You' sent out by Wakefield Council.

Coun Peter Box CBE, leader of the council, in his article called Open Box talks about the prosperity of Wakefield Council having made things better for all.

All he talks about are projects for Wakefield, Wakefield and Wakefield, and more Wakefield.

What about South Kirkby, South Kirkby and South Kirkby and the rest of our near neighbours?

Don't we belong as far as the council is concerned or have we been forgotten once again?

He also talks about crime rates falling.

Don't forget Coun Box, not all crimes get reported.

And he says Wakefield Council provided first class public services.

Where were the services when we needed them this winter?

Were they defrosting the posh water fountain in the city?

And Coun Box, where are the cleaner communities? I don't think they are in my area.

I say to Coun Box it's about time you shut your box and don't open it again until you have something in it for South Kirkby.

Mrs J Harrison,

Prospect Terrace,

South Kirkby
