Begging for scraps

While I appreciate the efforts of Wilf Benson and other councillors to salvage the funding that has been clawed back from the southeast of the region, it still seems we are begging for scraps from the table of Wakefield.

I read with interest the report about the proposed private development of a water park that may now be built nearer Wakefield than originally thought.

Is it me being thick?

Surely if the developer and Wakefield Council joined forces Wakefield could have a wonderful water park/swimming pool and still have funding to for a new pool in Hemsworth and refurbish Minsthorpe.

That would, of course, mean Wakefield Council not having full control of the facility in (or near) Wakefield.

Maybe that is the problem.
