Ballot could be delayed
Can someone explain to me what world-shattering events require an election for a town councillor in South Elmsall, when a full election will take place in the next five or six months in which this could have been included?
Will it help the environment? Will it solve the credit crunch?
How much will this cost me as a parish precept payer? Who called for it?
Perhaps someone can explain to me why there is such an urgency to spend tax payers' money on such a futile exercise? Would not this money be better spent on other things to help the community? Providing other premises for the Citizens Advice Bureau, which will shortly be vacating South Elmsall, for instance? I would call on the candidates to withdraw and save South Elmsall several thousand pounds.
Before anyone writes in accusing of ulterior motives, let me make it clear I consider myself to be a socialist but I am not affiliated to any political party, so do not have any axe to grind except for this complete waste of taxpayers' money.
