LEARNING CENTRE: Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre has added lots of new courses on its new programme. Contact the centre on 01226727824 or e-mail info@havercroftcentre.com

RYHILL ART SOCIETY: At the first meeting of the autumn session, Jane Lazenby gave a demonstration in acrylic. The scene, called 'The Dell', was drawn out on board in basic shapes then blocked in pale colour and completed as Jane gave an informative narrative to her audience. At the next meeting, to be held starting at 7pm on Wednesday ,September 16,
at St Paul's Church, Chapel Street, Ryhill, Jeremy Taylor will give a demonstration in watercolour. Admission of £3 includes refreshments, all welcome.

FOLK DANCING: Following the success of the taster sessions earlier in the year a regular season of easy folk dancing for everyone has been started. The next will take place 1pm to 3pm on Monday, September 14, at St Paul's Methodist church hall, Chapel Street, Ryhill, cost £2.

COMMUNITY SOCCER: A youth soccer team for 14 to 16-year-olds is being run by PCSO James Smith, of Wakefield neighbourhood
police team, 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursdays at Havercroft and Ryhill Sports Centre.

COFFEE: Coffee, tea and home-baked cakes are available at St James Centre, Ryhill, on Fridays at 10am.

CHARITY SHOP: The charity shop at Living Hope Church, Havercroft, is open 9am to noon on Monday and Tuesday. Light refreshments are available.

COUNCILLOR SURGERIES: Coun Maureen Cummings will hold her next surgery
9.30am-10.30am on Friday, September 18, at Havercroft Community Learning
Centre.

MULBERRYCLUB: Mulberry is a community sports multi-skills club for young people with physical and learning disabilities. The next club night is on Monday, September 14, at Havercroft Sports Centre (juniors 6pm-7pm, seniors 7pm-8pm). There is a charge of £1.50 per session. ACTIVITY SESSIONS: Connect3 is a free programme which aims to help overweight children, aged 16 and under, to enjoy a healthier lifestyle. The programme starts on September 14 at Havercroft and Ryhill Sports

FRIENDS OF HAW PARK WOOD: On Tuesday, September 15, Fiona Rigby of the
Hedgehog Hospital will give an insight into the life of the hedgehog. The open meeting is at the Discovery Centre, Anglers Country Park
at 6.30pm, everyone welcome.

JUNIOR SOCCER: Crofton Juniors under 15 football team is looking for more players for the forthcoming season. They urgently need a goalkeeper.Training is on Tuesdays and games on Sundays. For more information contact Mark on 0797 4627202.
