NEW ROAD: I have been informed that since the new road has been completed with the road through North Elmsall now only being for residents' access, some motorists are using it as a lay-by to park up during working hours. Is this contributing to the l
itter problem that was reported there a few weeks ago? Since I reported the litter problem and dog fouling, has there been any improvement or is it still the same? Please contact me and let me know what you think.

Upton Annual Meeting: The Parish Council will be holding the  annual parish meeting on April 20 at 6pm in the village hall. This is a meeting were parishioners can raise questions or issues of community interest with the Council.

PACT: The next meeting of Police and Communities Together will be held on Monday, April 26, at 7.30pm at Upton Village Hall.

Badsworth Annual Meeting: The annual parish meeting of Badsworth Parish Council will be held on Tuesday, April 20 at 7pm.  All residents of Badsworth are invited to attend and raise any concerns with parish councillors. The venue is the Lawson Hut on Main Street.

Rock Festival: Upton Rugby Club is hosting a huge summer rock festival in aid of Prince of Wales Hospice. There will be six bands performing and it will be an all day outside event. The Hospice has arranged all the bands, and money from ticket sales goes to them. The event, called "Rock Stock", will take place on Sunday, June 6, starting at noon.  Admission is by ticket at £3 or you can pay on the day for £5. There will be an outside bar and food available.

Thought for the week: After every ending, there is always a new beginning!
